Get In The Kitchen, Woman!

Taken from a new book called "You Mean A Woman Can Open It?: The Woman's Place In The Classic Age Of Advertising."

Advertising books like these will give future anthropologists and social historians a crystal-clear insight into the attitudes of the mid 20th century American.

Really Bad Early Billy Joel

Before he became The Piano Man, Billy Joel played in an acid-rock duo called Attilla.

They released one unsuccessful LP. The cover featured the pair posing in a meat locker while wearing silly medieval-inspired outfits.

Attila fell apart when Billy Joel ran off with his partner's wife. Their holy union lasted until "Uptown Girl" Christie Brinkley entered the picture.

Attila's music was a foul ejaculation of distorted organ riffs and off-kilter rhythms. It bears absolutely no resemblance to the maudlin balladeer Joel would become.

Check out a couple of their tunes at "Beware of the Blog." I particularly "recommend" a song called "Wonder Woman."

Gr-Gr-GILF

John McCain's mother, Roberta, is an absolutely ravishing 95 years young!

Think about it: this woman was born the year the Titanic sank.

I don't know what her secret is, but she needs to bottle it!

"DEVELOPERS!!!!"

Steve Ballmer, the successor to Bill Gates, probably found a book in the "business" section of Barnes & Noble encouraging CEOs to show more enthusiasm.

Did You Know...

...that this elegant 1978 album cover was designed by comedy legend Phil Hartman?

The album contained the lush-harmony hit "Crazy Love."

Watch Wikipedia Evolve in Real Time

Wikipedia is quite simply the world's ultimate repository of knowledge. It may be the biggest and best idea in human history: a dynamic, democratic encyclopaedia available to (nearly) everyone in the world, free from the expense of printing, larger than any library in the world. Ancient scholars would have absolutely drooled over the prospect of such a creation.

This website shows how Wikipedia works, relying on content updates from users from around the world.

Watch it unfold here.
